Rita A. O’Leary • Principal/Administrator
Rita begins her sixth year at the helm of LCS as well as the coordinator of the After School Program. With over 30 years of administrative experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and no-nonsense approach to this exceptional educational environment. Her expertise has proven to be invaluable, as the school was quick to gain recognition in the community as well as full accreditation status. Mrs. O’Leary feels blessed to have the opportunity to continue to be part of the growth of LCS. Rita is a sometimes “empty nester” who enjoys the madness of the Florida State football season…Go Noles! She holds an M.Ed from FAU and resides with her husband of 27 years in Deerfield Beach. As always, it is with tremendous pride and deep love that she welcomes you to Lighthouse Christian School.

Lilian Holder • Administrative Coordinator | Athletic Director
Lilian is the friendly voice as well as the master of organization for LCS. She has also taken on the role of Athletic Director and makes sure that all the details of the sports program are taken care of on a daily basis. Lilian holds a BA in Psychology from FAU and resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and daughter Kassie.

Cindy Giaquinto • Administrative Assistant
Cindy returns to the office as the friendly face and voice at the reception desk. She works extraordinarily well with the entire staff and is always willing to go the extra mile. She is the head coach of the Tennis Team and achieved an over .500 record in her inaugural season. Cindy resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband and two lovely daughters.

Kindergarten • Jacqueline Minett- Jackie joyfully continues to instruct our littlest charges in Kindergarten. Mrs. Minett is a seasoned educator with heart for little children and nature. She has recently become a licensed beekeeper and we look forward to her sharing her findings with the staff and children. Jackie is a graduate of FAU and holds a degree in Early Childhood education. She resides in Deerfield Beach with her husband and son, Jackson, a recent graduate of LCS.

Kindergarten • Rachel Therrell- Rachel will also instruct a group of Kindergarten students as she returns for a seventh year. Rachel grew up in First Presbyterian Church and continues to be very active on several church and school committees. Rachel is also the director of the popular Cherub Choir for PK-1 grade. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. She resides in Pompano Beach as a newlywed, with her husband Brian.

1st • Nicola Duyos- Nicola will continue to instruct our first graders as she takes them on their incredible learning journey. Nicola grew up in London and received her Honors Degree from the University of North London. She ventured across the ocean several years ago and met her husband, Robert. She now resides in Pompano Beach with him and her beautiful daughter, Ella.

1st • Leesa Loeffler- Leesa began her teaching career instructing first graders and she happily returns to join the early childhood team. Leesa is always involved in a school project, most recently as an instructor at our inaugural Art Adventures Summer Camp. She is a graduate of FAU and resides in Deerfield Beach.

2nd • Sharlyn Cazel- Sharalyn continues to sharpen the skills of our little ones as she once again brings the second grade curriculum to life. Sharalyn is a wise and dedicated educator and feels blessed to have been called to teach at LCS. She holds a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Miami. Sharalyn is the proud grandmother of two beautiful boys and resides in Fort Lauderdale.

3rd • Lisa Webel- Our Renaissance woman, Lisa Webel, will take on the challenge of third grade. Lisa continues to be an inspiration to her fellow teachers as she travels through her day with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Lisa holds a Master’s Degree in Education. She resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and two children.

4th • Meg Dickman- Meg’s love of fourth graders shines through in everything she tackles during the year. She has been most delighted to have initiated a field trip to St. Augustine to enhance the students’ study of the state of Florida. Meg holds a Master’s Degree in Varying Exceptionalities and assists her colleagues in identifying learning challenges. Meg resides in Lighthouse Point with her two school age children.

5th • Rita Floyd-Vester- Rita returns to teach grade five and takes on the challenge of preparing them for the excitement of Middle School. Rita is an Environmentalist as well as an animal enthusiast. Her after school Crazy About Animals Enrichment is very popular with the students as they have met a kangaroo and a baby lion! Rita holds a BS from FAU. She resides in Coral Springs with her husband and two children.

Marlene Lund • Marlene returns to our talented Middle School Team. She will have a sixth grade homeroom and instruct them as well as taking over the Spanish instruction for grades K-8. She is excited to begin to share her “Cuban roots” with our students. Marlene is an FAU graduate where she earned her BA. She resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and two adorable daughters.

Elizabeth Fisher • Liz will instruct our Middle School students in English and Literature as well as lead our Drama Club to the stage for its second production. Liz also honed her Fine Arts skills as an instructor this summer for our Art Adventures Summer Camp. She holds a BA from FAU and resides in Deerfield Beach with her husband and daughter, Isabella.

Danielle Somerville • We warmly welcome Danielle back to our Middle School to instruct our students in Science and Math. Danielle will also moderate the newly formed Math Team as they challenge themselves with competitive Math contests sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Danielle is an FAU graduate. She resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband Nick.

Marilyn Moran • Marilyn returns on a part time basis to instruct the Middle School in Social Studies as well as one level of Math. Marilyn has over 37 years of experience having taught from first grade on up through college. She holds a Master’s Degree from Montclair University. She resides in Ft. Lauderdale with her husband Michael.

Media|Library • Jennifer Moschette- Jennifer took this position mid-year and quickly became enamored with the excitement of bringing the written word to life. Her attention to detail and creative mind have helped to make the Library a favorite enrichment for our elementary students. Jennifer has years of experience in education and has owned and operated a successful area preschool. She is the mother of four school age children and resides with them and her husband in Lighthouse Point.

PE • Edward Torres- We warmly welcome Ed Torres to the LCS family as the new P.E. Coach for grades K-8. Ed and his lovely family are very recent transplants from New York City where Ed spent the last 19 years as a PE instructor and Coach at Buckley Private School in Manhattan. Ed, his wife and two young sons reside in Oakland Park. Welcome to Paradise, Torres Family!

Music • Damaris Nevitt- A talented and creative musician and teacher for over 21 years, Damaris returns for her third year at LCS. Damaris will instruct our K-5 graders in Music theory and performance. She is available for private voice and piano lessons and leads our elementary Choir on Fire. Damaris holds a BS from Trinity International University. She resides in Coconut Creek with her husband Richard.

Art • Cindy Black- Cindy will instruct all grade levels in Art as she continues to provide an exceptional talent to our wonderful art program. She will also teach Bible to the Middle School and work with the students on completing meaningful community service. Cindy is a familiar fixture within the Youth Program at First Presbyterian Church as she has been happily married for over 32 years to the Youth Minister, Dwayne Black. They reside in Lighthouse Point.

Lab • Linda Hinkle- Linda returns to direct our Science and Math Labs and works closely with the classroom teachers to ensure that Science standards are met and/or exceeded. A recognized Teacher of the Year in Broward County, Linda is enjoying semi-retirement here at LCS. A long time church member, Linda resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband and sons.

Cindy Irvin • Cindy returns for her fifth year as a teacher assistant. She is a wonderfully versatile and flexible staff member who will tackle any task at hand. Cindy is often the eagle eye in proofreading for the school and the church publications. She resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and daughter.

Alex Malfanti • Alex returns to our staff as a teacher assistant. She also coordinates the publication of the LCS yearbook as editor in chief. Alex instructs both beginner and advanced French as an after school enrichment. Alex received her B.S. in Elementary Education from IUFM in Paris, France. She resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and children.
