Goals And Expectations

The LCS After School Care Program strives to:

• Provide a safe and supportive environment
• Encourage the development of a positive self-concept
• Help children make appropriate choices and solve problems peacefully
• Foster a love and concern for others
• Provide homework assistance where needed

 We expect all students to:

• Respect self and others
• Respect all adults on campus as well as all property
• Exhibit appropriate behavior at all times

 We will work with each family to ensure the child’s success in the program. Students who exhibit consistent behavioral problems will be subject to dismissal from the program.

Activities:

We will provide a variety of opportunities through art, music, mentoring and physical activities. Some of these programs have an additional fee and must be paid for in advance. Sign-ups will be sent home with your child. There will be a quiet homework/study/reading time daily. Please instruct your child to complete his/her homework during this time.

Snacks:

The After School Care Program will provide one simple snack daily. All donations of unopened snacks and drinks will be greatly appreciated. Please alert the office of any food allergies.

Admission/Attendance Guidelines:

Admission is limited to children in grades PK-5 for pick-up from area schools. Children will be picked up at dismissal in the assigned bus loop. Please contact your child’s school to inform them that they will attend the afterschool program at Lighthouse Christian School/First Presbyterian Church.

Parent pick up time is before 6:00 p.m. daily. Late pick-ups will be assessed a $10.00 fee for the first ten minutes and $2.00 per minute after 6:10 p.m.

If your child is going to be absent from the program, it is required that you inform the office at (954) 941-7501 prior to noon of that day. Non-reported absences put the drivers behind schedule and therefore are subject to a $10.00 fee.

Safety:

All students must model their best behavior while on the bus or at the program. Failure to cooperate places the safety of the children at risk. Seat belts are mandatory.

All students must be signed out daily by the pick-up person. Children will not be released to unauthorized persons. Please fill out your registration accurately and alert the office if a situation arises where someone different is picking up your child. ID will then be documented by the person on staff.

Tuition and Fees:

2012-13 Annual After School Care tuition for LCS and 1st Presbyterian Church members is $1300, payable in 10 payments from August through May. Tuition is due on the 1^st of the month and will be considered late by the 15^th when a $20.00 late fee may be assessed. Checks are to be made payable to First Presbyterian Church with your child’s name and aftercare in the memo section. Any check returned to us unpaid will be charged a $35.00 fee and future payments must be made in cash. Online payment is recommended.
