Ways to Support Your PTL:
Become a member ~ When you become a member of the PTL, you not only support it financially, but you give yourself a stake in the future of the organization and its impact on the school. (Dues are $20 per family.)
Serve as a committee chairperson ~ Taking the lead can be a very rewarding experience. New faces and fresh ideas are always welcome and appreciated.
Attend special events and fundraisers ~ Don’t miss out! These events raise funds to support the PTL’s programs and are a great way to get to know your school, the staff and the students.
Volunteer for special events and fundraisers ~ Volunteers are the backbone of the PTL; always needed and greatly appreciated. Get involved and stay connected with the school.
Provide feedback about the PTL ~ If there’s something you’d like to say, we’d like to hear it! Comments, questions and concerns are always welcome
PTL Programs, Events, and Fundraisers:
PTL General Meetings ~ We will be having four meetings during the 2009 – 20010 school year. The first is the Back to School Night. The next three meetings will include guest speakers on important children issues, updates from the school, upcoming events, refreshments, and a lot of fun.
Open Houses ~ An opportunity for the community to become acquainted with LCS and enroll their child for the upcoming year. We have four dates scheduled for parents to tour the school and get their important questions answered.
Kindergarten Parents “Boo-Hoo Breakfast” ~ A Breakfast held for parents to commiserate on dropping their precious children off for their first day of school.
Sports Day and Barbeque ~ A fun-filled day for students and their families.
Pancake Breakfast ~ Several times during the year, we will be serving pancakes. We will be hosting this fundraiser, so come and enjoy breakfast with your school friends. Dates will be announced.
Spaghetti Dinner ~ Several times during the year, we will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser. This will give families an opportunity to come have dinner all together with friends from school. Dates will be announced.
Mariner’s Closet ~ A great way to recycle your child's outgrown uniforms. PTL will collect the uniforms and hold an Almost New Uniform Sale.
Teacher Appreciation ~ The PTL will do their very best to show LCS teachers and staff how much they are appreciated.
Moms-in-Touch~ There will be a Prayer Box in the front office where students and parents can request prayers. Once a week, parents will get together and honor those requests. Students who have been prayed for will receive a special Prayer Bookmark.
Nurturing Committee ~ This committee will be available to provide “nurturing” services to those families in need. For example, the PTL would help organize meals or childcare for a family dealing with a major illness, death, birth, etc.
Box Tops ~ You can make a difference for LCS every time you shop for groceries! Just clip the Box Tops coupons from hundreds of your favorite products and send them to school. The PTL will take care of the rest.
Environmental Committee ~ This committee will work toward increasing awareness of environmental issues and implementing programs that encourage us to continue taking care of our environment. Melaleuca, one of the world’s largest online and catalog retailers, offers exclusive, scientifically based wellness products to its customers. They will donate 5% of their sales back to LCS PTL.
Student Planners and Folders Sale ~ These are required items which the PTL orders and sells at the Welcome Back to School Night (PTL’s first meeting) and throughout the school year.
School Directory ~ The PTL will provide each family with an LCS School Directory.
Business to Business Directory ~ This fundraiser will allow families to advertise their businesses within our school community.
