We are extraordinarily blessed at LCS to have a dedicated and talented faculty. We proudly introduce them:
Elementary School:
K~ Jacqueline Minett~ This is Jackie’s fifth year at LCS and she happily returns to teaching her first love, Kindergarten. She is a graduate of FAU with a degree in Early Childhood as well as a Bachelor's in Social Work. Jackie is a nature lover who resides in Deerfield with her husband Paul and son Jackson.
K~ Rachel Merritt Therrell~ Rachel returns for her sixth year and will take charge of teaching one of our Kindergarten classes. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. Rachel grew up in 1st Presbyterian Church and continues to be involved in the life of the Pink Church. She is the director of the Cherub Choir. Rachel resides in Pompano Beach and is recently married to the love of her life, Brian.
1~ Nicola Duyos~ Nicola returns for her seventh year and once again will take our first graders on their amazing learning journey. She is a graduate of the University of North London and holds an Honors Degree in elementary education. Nicola resides in Pompano Beach with her husband, Robert and beautiful daughter, Ella.
2~ Sharalyn Cazel~ Sharalyn returns for her fourth year at LCS and will continue to teach our second graders. She holds a BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University and the University of Miami. Sharalyn is a seasoned educator with over 25 years experience, 19 of those years at Pine Crest Preparatory School in Fort Lauderdale. Sharalyn resides in Ft. Lauderdale and is soon to be a grandma for the second time. Congratulations, Sharalyn.
2~ Lisa Webel~ Our renaissance woman, Lisa, returns to instruct our second graders. Starting her fifth year at LCS, Lisa continues to be an inspiration to her fellow teachers. She holds a masters in education from University of Phoenix. Lisa resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and two children, Heather and Joseph.
3~ Leesa Loeffler~ Lisa returns for a third year and will now instruct our third grade class. She will also continue to lend her skills to our evolving gardening club. Leesa holds a BA from Florida Atlantic University. A native Floridian, Leesa resides in Deerfield Beach.
4~ Meg Dickman~ Meg begins her fifth year on staff and is delighted to again be teaching in our fourth grade. She holds a Masters in Education from FAU in varying exceptionalities and is always willing to share her expertise with her colleagues. Meg resides in Pompano Beach with her two children, Abby and Taylor.
5~Rita Floyd-Vester~ Rita returns to our staff this year as our fifth grade instructor. She has over ten years in elementary education and received her BS from Florida Atlantic University. Rita is an environmentalist as well as an animal enthusiast. Her “Crazy About Animals” enrichment program has been welcome after school addition. Rita resides in Coral Springs with her husband and two children.
Middle School Team:
Marlene Lund~ We welcome Marlene to our talented middle school team. Marlene will have a sixth grade homeroom and instruct both 6/7 graders. She has over nine years of experience and looks forward to sharing her leadership skills with her students. Marlene holds a degree from FAU and resides in Pompano with her husband and two daughters.
Elizabeth Fisher~ Liz returns to the middle school team and will instruct the students in English and Literature. She has over nine years experience in religious based schools. Liz received her BA in English from Florida Atlantic University. She resides in Deerfield Beach with her husband and daughter, Isabella.
Danielle Somerville~ We warmly welcome Danielle to our Middle School Team. She is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University where she is continuing her education in Mathematics. Danielle’s enthusiasm as well as her willingness to go the extra mile will surely add spark to her daily classes. Danielle is recently married and resides in Lighthouse Point.
Marilyn Moran~ Marilyn returns to LCS to teach Social Studies, Math, Algebra and Latin. She has over 35 years of experience from elementary school through college. Marilyn holds a Master’s Degree from Montclair University. She resides in Ft. Lauderdale with her husband Michael.
Enrichments
Media~Holly Lindquist~ Holly returns for her third year at LCS with continued enthusiasm as director of the Media Center. She is busily planning her lessons for all the grade levels that will grace her doorway come fall. Holly holds an elementary education degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She resides in Ft. Lauderdale with her husband Scott.
Science~ Linda Hinkle~ Linda returns for her third year as Science and Math Lab Director. Linda works closely with the classroom teachers to ensure that science benchmarks are met or exceeded. A recognized “Teacher of the Year” with Broward County Schools, Linda is enjoying semi-retirement here at LCS. She resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband and two sons.
Spanish~ Adriana Chambliss~ We warmly welcome back Adriana to our staff and look forward to an exciting Spanish program for grades K-8. Mrs. Chambliss founded Hola Mundo, a Spanish motivational program as well as Hola Mundo summer sports camps. Mrs. Chambliss holds a law degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, in Caracas, Venezuela. She resides in Pompano with her husband and two daughters.
Music~ Damaris Nevitt~ A talented and creative musician and teacher for over 20 years, Damaris returns for her second year at Lighthouse Christian School. Damaris is also the pianist and associate music director at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. Damaris will be available for afternoon private voice and piano lessons at LCS. Damaris hold as BS degree from Trinity International University in Miami. Recently married to her husband Richard and a resident of Coconut Creek, she is enjoying the role of stepmom to four wonderful children.
P.E.~ Catherine Buchanan returns to the staff as the Physical Education instructor for K-8. Cathy is a graduate of Notre Dame University. She has a CPA license but raising four children has kept her quite busy over the last several years. Her other recent experience has been as team mother for both the girls’ and men’s volleyball programs at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Cathy is an avid runner and is excited about influencing the students to be active and healthy. Cathy resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband and children.
Assistants
Cindy Irvin~ Cindy returns for her fourth year as a teacher assistant. She keeps us all on our toes in the morning to be sure devotions begin on time. Cindy will tackle any task and has become an invaluable member of our staff. Cindy resides in Pompano with her husband John and daughter Kaitlin.
Jennifer Moschette~ Jen returns for her fourth year as a teacher assistant. Jen is always willing to do whatever is needed, including the transportation of children to PE classes. She holds an AA degree and preschool director credential. Her wealth of experience included the ownership and operation of her own preschool. Jennifer resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband Frank and four school age children.
Alex Malfanti~ Alex joins our staff full time as a teacher assistant. Alex has been our #1 substitute as well as Library volunteer. Therefore we joyfully welcome her work ethic to our full time faculty. Alex will also continue to lead the after school French Club. She resides in Pompano Beach with her husband and two daughters.
Administration
Lilian Holder~ Administrative Coordinator
Lilian returns for her sixth year as the coordinator for Lighthouse Christian School. She is the friendly voice as well as the master of organization for LCS. Lilian holds a BA in psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice from FAU. She resides in Pompano with her husband Keith and daughter Kassie.
Cindy Giaquinto~ Cindy joins our office team and will work part time as another friendly voice on the phone and at the reception desk. Cindy has been an active volunteer and school parent over the past several years. She resides in Lighthouse Point with her husband and two school age daughters.
Rita O’Leary~ Administrator
Rita begins her fifth year as Administrator of LCS and the Fifth Day Afterschool Program. With over 29 years in administration, she has brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the building of this exceptional educational environment. She feels extraordinarily blessed to be working with such a talented staff as well as extremely supportive school and church families. Rita is a Deerfield Beach sometimes “empty nester” who enjoys the madness of Florida State football season…Go Noles! Mrs. O’Leary holds a Master’s Degree from FAU and a BS in Elementary Education from St. John’s University. It is with great love and enormous pride that she welcomes you to visit the new Education Building!

Cindy Black~ Cindy returns to our staff and will instruct all grades in Art and the middle school students in Bible. Cindy holds a Fine Arts degree and is excitedly planning to share her expertise with her young charges. If the name seems familiar, it is because Cindy has been happily married for over 30 years to Dwayne, the Youth Director of 1st Presbyterian Church. They reside in Lighthouse Point.
